Filmmaker Cecilia Aldarondo examines the troubled relationship between the United States and its often-neglected territory of Puerto Rico, a situation that was laid bare by the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria when the killer storm struck the island in September 2017. Her resulting one-hour film, "Landfall," surveys the horrific aftermath through the deeply personal perspective of Lale Namerrow Pastor, a local woman who seized this opportunity to dispel glaring misconceptions outsiders have about Puerto Rico.
