The 44th Annual Kennedy Center Honors

CBS | 9:00 pm

Singer-actress Bette Midler and Motown Records founder Berry Gordy are among the honorees as this year's gala ceremonies return with an in-person audience to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, after last year's event made do with smaller groups of attendees at multiple venues around the Kennedy Center grounds. In addition to Midler and Gordy, other award recipients feted during the program include operatic bass-baritone Justino Diaz, "Saturday Night Live" executive producer Lorne Michaels and singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. This special was taped on Dec. 5.
