Preserving Democracy: Pursuing a More Perfect Union

PBS | 9:00 pm

Airing on the one-year anniversary of the shocking domestic assault on the U.S. Capitol complex in 2020, this new two-hour special explores the ideals and inherent flaws in democracy, as well as what appear to be recurring cycles of progress in racial equality and backlash to those same steps forward. Actress Tamara Tunie ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") narrates the documentary, which includes insights from former senior presidential advisor Valerie Jarrett, former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and author-journalist Robert Costa, among many others.
