Women of the Movement

A racially motivated 1950s murder is at the heart of this compelling six-episode limited series, which revisits the notorious Emmett Till case from the perspective of his grieving mother. Tonight's two-hour premiere opens as Mamie Till-Mobley (Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren of Broadway's "Tina") reluctantly agrees to let her restless 14-year-old son, Emmett (Cedric Joe, "Space Jam: A New Legacy"), spend his summer vacation with relatives in Mississippi. Just days after his arrival there, however, Emmett goes missing.
