Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

PBS | 8:00 pm

For a new episode called "Activists Roots," host Henry Louis Gates Jr. explores the family roots of attorney and author Anita Hill, who challenged the Supreme Court confirmation of Clarence Thomas, and Brittany Packnett Cunningham, who served as a member of President Barack Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing. These are two women who have made profound personal sacrifices for social justice, and Gates' examination of their family histories turns up lost heroes and African-Americans who fought for their rights across past centuries.
