The $100,000 Pyramid

Inflation is inescapable, even with TV games shows like this one, which was called "The $10,000 Pyramid" back in 1973, when Dick Clark hosted the original CBS version of the show. That title has changed as the top prize inched its way incrementally upward to its current $100,000 jackpot, but the basic format — now overseen by host Michael Strahan in the sixth season of this primetime ABC iteration — remains essentially the same: Two celebrities and their respective partners race the clock to make it into the winner's circle.
